Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most anticipated games of 2015 and was released last month on Nov. 17 with a huge crowd of excited and enthusiastic Star Wars fans lining up to buy it. It places the player in the world of Star Wars, right in the middle of the battle, through beautiful landscapes and the iconic planets such as Hoth and Tatooine while they are surrounded with amazing sounds and picture-perfect views. I think the overall game lives up to the hype and is very fun and exciting, as the countless play styles make it a never-ending adventure.

The most popular game modes in the new Star Wars Battlefront game are Fighter Squadron, Walker Assault, and Drop Zone. Fighter Squadron takes players to the sky, where they get to dogfight in classic Star Wars ships such as the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, the Millennium Falcon, and many more. However, players spend most of their time on the ground as soldiers or heroes. In Walker Assault, the game’s main mode, imperial soldiers, fighting for the Dark Side, must protect a pair of AT-AT’s from getting destroyed by the rebels. 40 players clash on gigantic maps providing a never-ending sense of excitement, where anything could happen. Walker Assault is more individually based, whereas Drop Zone requires teamwork. In Drop Zone, players must fight to gain control of escape pods raining down on the map. These game modes are all very exciting and I found them to be very fun to play around in because of the huge explosions and all of the crazy things that happen.

However, each of these modes only includes a couple of maps, making the experience a bit limited. Electronic Arts, the makers of the game, do plan to release more maps, but are doing so through DLCs (Downloadable Content) that players must pay around $50 for.

Overall, the game provides an experience almost identical to the original Star Wars movies, and the sights and sounds make you feel like you are in the movie. Star Wars Battlefront is definitely a game worth checking out and can be found at most common shopping stores or ordered online.

RATING: 8/10
