Palin for President in 2012?
Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin Sets Eyes on Presidency
Ever since Sarah Palin withdrew from her post as governor of Alaska in July of 2009, speculation over whether she will run for president in 2012 has created a giant media frenzy.
Recently during a TV interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters, Palin said, “I will run for president if I believe that I have the best shot to win the race.” Later in the interview, Palin said that she believes she could beat Obama.
However, a Washington Post poll suggests that the odds are against Palin. While 59 percent of Americans “flatly rule out” voting for her, 31 percent would consider voting for her and 8 percent would “definitely” support her.
ABC News reports that Palin admits to openly discussing her political future with her family to decide on whether her candidacy would be a “good thing.” However, there still remains speculation over whether she is serious about running or if she is merely flirting with the idea in order gain some publicity.
