Students gather for worship and fellowship

On April 21, Youth Alive hosted its annual Praise Night at the Valhalla theatre. Over 30 people showed up for a night of worship, fellowship, and prayer. The event opened with worship led by the praise team, with Abby Wong, Rebecca Chen, and Mingze Li on vocals, Eddie Shin on guitar, Sandra Choi on bass, Naier Wang on piano, and Christian Setiawan on drums. Worship songs included “Hosanna,” “From the Inside Out,” “You Have Won Me,” and “10,000 Reasons.”
After worship, attendants participated in a quick moment of mingling time during which they had to find three people and find out three interesting things about them. After that, speaker Michelle Salviejo, nicknamed Mishsi, spoke on the topic of “Who am I?”
Salviejo discussed the insecurity and loss of identity among many adolescents and shared her testimony on how she found her identity in Christ. She shared Psalm 139: 14, a Bible verse that stated that we are all “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Salviejo and her team of youth leaders then held a time of prayer for members in the audience. Then there was a short time of fellowship and food before the Praise Night closed with a few more worship songs.
