Don’t expect every experience to be even close to the way you imagined it. Heck, don’t even think
about what something is going to be like because no matter what you will be disappointed. No, but
disappointment isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because the unexpected may just be the best thing that
has ever happened to you. It’s just that you shouldn’t plan your life, because although planning is the
responsible thing to do, you are living the plan as you are planning. Since you have already lived it once,
it will never happen quite the way you imagined it. Rather, why don’t you not think about it and not
plan, and maybe then you can fully live something amazing or impacting.
Hi, my name is Jinny, and can’t wait for what I have not planned.

Katherine Wang (Features Editor)
Hi, I’m Katherine and I’m the Features editor here at the Voice. And in case you were
wondering, Features is the section in the middle with the pretty pictures. Apparently, less
people know this than I had expected. Maybe the pretty awesome, amazing, breathtaking,
spectacular pictures distracted you. I understand.
I’d write something witty here, but unfortunately, I’m saving my brain cells for college
apps.
Instead, let me give you some life-changing advice:
Read the Voice.
Read the Voice.
Worship me.
Read the Voice.
Read the Voice.
Read the Voice.

My name. Is Eugene.
Eswar Dhinakaran (Entertainment Editor)
Nicole Nelson (Humor Editor)
I don’t feel comfortable talking about myself when there is conflict going on in Uganda. Therefore, I have decided to take a vow of silence in order to show my support for the Ugandan victims. Please post this to show that you care. 99.9% of you will not post this. The 0.1% of you who will post this, will be the person who first brought my attention to the atrocities being committed. Thank you, I am forever in debt. Ignorance is not bliss.

There one was a man named Pot Pucker. He had a secret that no one could ever know.
He was never on the inside looking out, but from the outside looking in. Basically, Pot
Pucker was a homeless stalker. He’s now on ice for 5 to 10.
My friends are bad at writing stories.
Sandy Chen (Web Editor)
Call it, yell it, scream it. Sandy’s the name.
I continue my Voice adventure as a busy senior and web editor. Much has changed, but I can definitely reassure you that one thing did not: writing for eager readers. Honestly, I don’t remember when I picked up my pen for the first time to write a long saga. I think it was when I was in the 5th grade, because I totally remember slaving my sister to illustrate whatever I wrote, and we’d staple them into thick booklets. I have so many of those childhood packages stored in my bedroom.
I might be a little too loud, too outgoing, and too fun for you, but hey, step up and talk to me. I promise I won’t be ranting on and on about how much I love desserts.
Tina Kantaria (News Editor)
Find me camouflaged into the eccentric paintings on Irvington’s cinder block walls, surrounded by the masses stampeding through the hallways. I stand quietly, pondering the mysteries of time travel, wondering why shoelaces always come untied at the most inconvenient of times. I remember that one thing that happened that one time at that one place (you know, with that one guy) as I flip through the pages of mind looking for more relevant answers. Occasionally, I meet with the King of Dreams at my desk, skipping over the small talk because I came to class to learn something. Sometimes, the Gods bless me with the power to bend time and space, though I have yet to master the intricacies of school clocks, which tend to move backward, despite my efforts. You might spot me on the roof, preparing myself for the unexpected, which tends to fall from the sky, but otherwise, I’ll just be your news editor.
Brandon Lam (Columnist)
Hey… I’m Brandon Lam.
I care about what I’m doing and not about where I’m going,
I hope you like what I say, but if not, I’mma just keep flowing,
‘Cause I don’t wanna let what people say stop me from being happy,
I don’t care who I lap in a race, and I care even less about who lapped me,
Keep up with my columns this year ’cause I’m on the come-up,
So stay with me brah, I’m gonna go and I’m gonna stay up.

During my free time, I indulge in dweebish activities like Tetris and watching anime. Since no one actually reads these About Me’s, I’d like to give a shout-out to Beatrice… Warning, the last safe place has fallen. VFD is no note…

Hi, my name is Kelsey and I don’t know what to write about myself. I like to cook, sleep, and ptl. I like fish tacos from this one particular taco stand in downtown Ensenada. I find it weird how we become so immune to all the problems in the world. I find it weird how people can have no reaction to knowing that a child dies every twenty seconds from a water-related disease. It’s not right.
Karthik Mayilvahanan (Staff Writer)
Hello there. Welcome to my 5-8 sentence description of myself. There – I have two down and 3-6 more to go by the end of this sentence. OK, it’s time to get serious. My name is Karthik Mayilvahanan and this is my first year as a part of the Voice staff. I am one of those short little kids that people see and ask,”Are you really in high school?” I like sleeping, eating chocolate, Harry Potter, Hawaii, and football (I am a 49ers fan, so all of you Raider buffs out there, your going down this season). Other than that, I am excited to be a part of the journalism staff and have a great year writing articles in the Voice. If you see me in the hall and say hello, don’t take it personally when I give you a weird look because I don’t know you. Just keep walking and forget it ever happened.
Mariam Syed-Quadri (Staff Writer)
My name is Mariam Syeda-Quadri and I’ve lived in Fremont, CA for most of my life. I love reading books and could read all day if I had the time. Figure-skating is my life. I just love the thrill of it and the feeling of accomplishment when I succeed at accomplishing a move that took many hours of work and dedication. I have two brothers who can be extremely annoying (especially my elder brother) but who I love nonetheless. I also have about 50 cousins who mean the world to me.
Jenny Lu (News Editor)
Hi there! Yes, it’s me. That weird girl who talks A LOT. Some people call it rambling, but those are the people who don’t appreciate the things I have to say. Frankly, y’all are jealous. Don’t hate me ‘cause I’m beautiful…sheesh. I’m talking to you, you little envious, green monster. I wish Facebook stalking could be a profession in real life. I tend to zone out—a lot. I have many things to talk about, so say hi to me sometime, and we can have a wonderful conversation about all the great things in life.
Aditya Kumar (Staff Writer)
I am Aditya Gopalnathramakrishnacricket Kumar. I just move here from India but my English getting better. I really glad to be on the voice in india we don’t have news paper at school. I love mathematics and sciences and watching discovery channel. I hate all sport unless its cricket or soccer. I am junior at Irvington high school and love vikkings. I hope to be computer technician like my uncle chad.
