A nickel may not be worth much… but a forgotten one is
Starting from September 2011, AC Transit has started charging $1.05 instead of their old rate of $1. This may prove burdensome for some forgetful students who don’t bring their nickels to school. Since the bus doesn’t accept change, students will inevitably end up paying more than $1.05 if they forget a nickel.
Sophomore Emily Liang states, “I always try not to forget nickels now since I take the bus home, but it’s hard, especially since they slip through your wallet!” In these trying times, the AC Transit has cleverly raised their prices. By raising their prices a mere five cents, they increase their chances of earning a lot more money.
