Spirit week homework load impacts student participation

During Spirit Week, I had about the same amount of homework as any other week. This really surprised me since… it’s spirit week. Shouldn’t there be less homework during this one week that is supposed to be filled with fun and spirit? Instead of going to the all-nighter, I was stuck doing a project. I spent every night studying into the wee hours of the morning, hence my grogginess and total lack of spirit the next day.

It’s not just me. Sophomore Pritha Roy states, “In addition to all my homework, I also had cross country practice every day and I really just didn’t have time to balance everything. This spirit week was not as fun as it could have been for me.”
