Varsity crushes Mission 41-6 with support of record-setting crow
On Friday night, Irvington’s Homecoming game wasn’t much of a contest. The Vikings came out with a 41-6 win over the MSJ Warriors.
On Mission’s first drive, Irvington forced a fumble, recovered it, and there after dominated the game. Within four plays, running back Ariel Hercick took off for the first score of the day.
Hercick had a career day, carrying the ball 16 times, racking up 166 yards, and scoring 3 touchdowns. At the end of the first quarter, Hercick broke out for a sensational 64 yard score, giving the Vikings an early lead of 14 to 6.
Other key players included Raeshawn Lee, who added two touchdowns, with 104 yards on the day. As if that was not enough, quarterback Jack Shank ran the ball in for a touchdown too. Kicker Adam Rebello also played well, making five out of six point-after-TD attempts.
The home crowd was loud and proud, cheering the team on throughout the game. Irvington set a new school record for attendance.
Currently, the team is 4-1-2, pumped up with the Homecoming win, and ready to take on James Logan.
