Mecha, Battle of the Clubs aim to unify IHS
On December 16-17 in Valhalla, Mecha is introducing a new event to Irvington – The Battle of the Clubs. This competition between clubs will require each club to come up with an act, and the winner will receive $500 and a trophy for their club.
Mecha advisor Alberto Ballado is in charge of the event, as well as coordinators Brian Zucker, Jonny Poole, and Kasim Shaikh. This is the first time that Irvington is doing this event, and Mr. Ballado says he plans on continuing it for the years to come.
“Battle of the Clubs is an event that makes all the clubs work together and become more active. It will help us see which clubs are organizedwork well together,” says Mr. Ballado. “The purpose of this event is to not only bring unity to the clubs but also the whole school.”
According to coordinator Kasim Shaikh, judges will be selected from outside Irvington.
“It’s just a fun, unifying event,” says Kasim. “It’s a way for the clubs to show off their talents.”
