    Rinspect sQuba

    An Underwater Adventure

    By Devin Trubey

The Rinspect sQuba, the first underwater car is available for the mass market. The idea stems from the 1977 movie, “The Spy Who Loved Me” starring Roger Moore. 30 years later, Swiss Rinspeed boss Frank M. Rinderknecht created a version that would be available for public use for the company Esoro. The car appeared at the Geneva Motor Show March 6th-16th 2008, where it was praised for being an eco friendly car. The car’s 3 motors are powered by lithium-ion batteries and emit zero exhaust. Some other unique features include the car’s convertible design to allow passengers to swim out of the vehicle. The car will automatically surface without a driver. Scuba tanks and regulators were installed in the car so passengers would have an air source. You can now lease the sQuba in 29 countries.
