Interact 2013 Charity Dinner
Interact Charity Dinner
Once upon a time

Once upon a time, American High School hosted the Interact Charity Dinner during the evening of April 19, 2013. The club wanted to raise money for the charity “Life, Love, Literacy,” an organization that raises money for underprivileged children in third world countries, through a beautifully decorated dinner.
The Disney-themed dinner, titled “Once Upon a Time,” featured lanterns from “Tangled” scattered throughout the premises and a starry night sky photo booth banner. Performers from all over the school district also put on a benefit concert during the dinner, showcasing talents ranging from singing to dancing. A magician even took to the stage, setting his hands on fire and demonstrating several slight of hand card tricks. “We weren’t paid to perform,” junior Jonny Cheruvelil said. “We came out of the goodness of our hearts.”
The event generated quite a large sum of money for Interact’s cause. As of now, the club officers are still calculating the net profit, but expect it to be a larger success than previous years’ dinners.
