Throughout American history, brilliant, significant individuals such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Susan B. Anthony have influenced people from all parts of the world with their famed, inspirational words of wisdom. To preserve our reverence for these prominent historical figures, for example, Mr. Lewis’ history class took quotations from various enlightenment thinkers and posted them around the school. While it’s important to honor our heroes of the past, we must also recognize the people who are making history today and take heed of their wise words. Here are a few prime examples of worthy quotations that must be shared with future generations:

“My greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform live.”

West clearly expresses how far we have come as a generation, in a transition from an egocentric society to one of expression and generosity. He yearns to witness his own performances because he obviously plans to donate money from ticket sales to global non profit organizations and, more than anything, he desires to contribute to those sales in any way he can. West carries the sign of cultural renaissance, revealing deep introspection as he admits his source of emotional pain.

Trump takes historical events into account as he makes wise, informed decisions as a presidential candidate, learning well especially from those who participated in the second World War. It has been scientifically proven by Trump himself that immigrants are a plague that will destroy the United States and sully the American Dream with their delicious food and colorful, cultural heritage. By isolating the United States from the enemy with a physical wall, just as the East Germans did, Trump will not only be our savior, but will also set an excellent example for all future politicians vying for the presidential seat.

“Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean I’d love to be skinny like that but not with all those flies and death and stuff.”

Carey places herself in the situations of these emaciated children. Carey’s words prove that, even living in the lap of luxury, she cares for these starving children enough to desire to be like them and admire them. In this way, she places herself in their shoes, display true selflessness and compassion. This timeless quotation is obviously one that should be shared with future generations as a reminder of how much empathy was present in the media of our time.

“You know what? I am actually not that much into voting. I think it’s kinda crazy that a woman is running, because I think that women deal with a lot of emotions and menopause and PMS and stuff.”

Here, Hogan clearly exemplifies her role as a modern advocate for women’s rights, proposing that women shouldn’t need to have a place within the world of US politics and put their emotional health at risk. She expresses concern for any potential female candidates, as she knows that being President of the United States is synonymous to being the nation’s Mother; Hogan does not want women to be labeled only as mothers. She also knows that as president, a woman would be required to constantly listen to and work with men, which would result in excessive and altogether unnecessary emotional trauma. Her empathetic and forward thinking will usher in a new age of social reform for the better.
