Breaking News: COVID ON CAMPUS (Updated 12/14, 5pm)

12/14, 5pm Update: More COVID Cases Confirmed

This afternoon, IHS staff members received a second email confirming additional cases of COVID-19 at Irvington High School. The new notice indicates that employees working between 12/9/2020 and 12/11/2020 may have been exposed to the virus. Contact tracing is expected to continue in accordance with Alameda County health guidelines.

This notice comes after a previously confirmed case of COVID-19 reported to IHS staff members last week. It is unclear if these COVID-19 cases are related or isolated incidents.

On Friday, Dec. 11, Irvington staff members received an email confirming that at least one IHS employee on campus has contracted COVID-19. The notice, sent out by Superintendent CJ Cammack, notes that “employees working at Irvington High School on 12/3/2020 and/or 12/4/2020 may have been exposed to this virus.” FUSD is currently performing contact tracing, but has not closed the Irvington High School campus.⁠ ⁠
