Trader Joe’s: Holiday Cookie Special

Trader Joes
Number 3 on the list of Trader Joe’s cookie ranks

This year, much like last year, Trader Joes has continued their winter cookies selection. Out of the many types and varieties of cookies to choose from, I decided to go with the 4 that seemed to be almost sold out.

  1. Butter Almond Thins

To start off this list with an item that frankly catfished all buyers is sad, but it must be done. Of all the cookies I tried, the Butter Almond Thins had to come last not only for its bland taste, but also for its bland packaging. It looked like any other healthy cookie, if that’s even possible, but inside the packaging was a cookie I hope to never try again. Of course my parents say otherwise as they enjoy it with their daily coffee and tea, but personally I don’t appreciate the name of the cookie being Butter Almond Thins, and the cookies not having any almonds. If you want to feel heartbreak once in your life, you can experience it most likely when you open the box to find absolutely no almonds and no joy.

  1. Spiced Cookie Mug Hangers

Out of all the cookies I tried, the Spiced Cookie Mug Hangers were the most christmas spirited of all. I’m not sure whether it was the gingerbread shape or the taste of cinnamon spice, but these cookies were a joy to look at. So for any who are planning to buy this product I recommend you just look at the beautiful packaging and appreciate it. Because the cookie inside is definitely not going to be anything that you had hoped for. With a grainy texture, almost like dirt in your mouth, this cookie is not the one you should serve to guests. And if you still chose to go ahead and make the purchase, I should put a disclaimer that the hole in the middle of the gingerbread man is a disturbing sight for children as it was for my brother!

  1. Butter Waffle Cookies

While this cookie would have been on the low side of these ratings, unfortunately the ones above were even worse. Now, I shouldn’t completely disregard this one as it did try to look christmassy. And although it did not succeed, it was still a little crispy. So, this cookie is for all the people out there who aren’t afraid to eat a stick of butter out of the packaging, because this cookie is just that. A thin layer of butter sliced off and then fried to taste like butter only crispier. Beware this cookie might be your second heartbreak because although you were expecting to taste waffles, all you get is butter!

  1. Chocolate Creme Sandwich Cookies

Definitely the most edible out of the bunch, these cookies were a favourite amongst all members of the family. My mother seemed to enjoy it with her tea while my father ate a ton with his coffee. And lastly, the biggest compliment I can provide to this cookie is that my brother, who spit out almost all of these past cookies, ate basically all of these ones. While this cookie might just be chocolate wrapped in even more chocolate, if you or a friend are in need of a good christmas present for their chocolate-loving siblings, I recommend this cookie. With an almost overpowering amount of chocolate, this cookie still managed to come out at the top of the list.
