Smiskis come in blind boxes and are green or blue figurines that each have their own facial expression and action. Every single time you open one of the blind boxes you get a mystery figurine. I started collecting them before the pandemic.
When I went on a trip to Hawaii, I saw that there were these really cute figurines on sale. I asked my mom to buy them, and my mom bought me four of them; that’s when the addiction started. When I went to Japan, I bought around 20, and the collection just kept growing.
I have around 38 Smiskis, and I have all the series because my goal was to collect at least one or two of them per series. In a series, each Smiski has its own topic. For example, the yoga series has them exercising, and the bathroom series would be them holding toilet paper, or squatting on a toilet. Some of the different series I have are the bathroom series, all the living series, the yoga series, and one museum series. I actually have a secret one as well that goes for around 100 dollars online. A secret Smiski comes one in every 144 Smiskis. I think my favorite Smiski might be the secret Smiski that I got, because not a lot of people have it. I was really excited and squealing when I got it, and it made me really happy.
Every day when I wake up, the Smiski collection is right in front of me and just makes me happy. I guess it’s more the anticipation of what you can get, rather than the collection itself. The one Smiski I want to add to my collection is the Girl With a Pearl Earring figure, just like the the famous painting. It’s really unique because it has a special pose and accessories as well.
I don’t regret starting the collection because it’s what makes me happy, and I don’t regret buying things that make me happy.
