I wanted to be senior CO in order to get the chance to talk to a lot of different students throughout my grade, and to serve the class in creating a very memorable senior year with fun events and lasting moments.
One of my visions for our senior year is to have the class of 2026 be more bonded and definitely more spirited as well. I’m really looking forward to working with my fellow class officers to host many more class-wide events and make the most of senior traditions, including senior sunrise and senior sunset. Since it’s our last year together, I really want to make sure to maximize the shared experiences and quality time that we can create for our peers.
In terms of my leadership experience, these past three years at Irvington I’ve participated in Class Council, been co-president of Vietnamese Student Association, and held positions in ASG such as procedurals representative and secretary. Throughout these roles I’ve learned how to lead large teams of students, run successful events, and become familiar with the duties and responsibilities that entail being a class officer.
I’m really excited that us senior class officers next year will be more like a team than a duo. I think the dynamic allows us to provide a lot of support to each other and also bond throughout the year.I think it will definitely have both challenges and perks, but I know that each of us have different skills and ideas that will help us work together to create the best year possible.
I’m most excited to plan senior sunrise and senior sunset. I think the tradition itself is such a cute idea, and as a very sentimental person I love the full circle moment and nostalgia that it creates.
One of the things that I hear graduated seniors regret the most is the missed chances for connections and branching out to other people outside of their usual social circle. With our events and activities in the coming year, I hope to help create opportunities for the Class of 2026 to make a few more memories and lasting friendships here at Irvington.
