Teacher Interviews: Ms. Teboe

Q: What classes do you teach?

A: I currently teach English 10 Honors, English 11, and English Language Learner Connections.

Q: Where were you before Irvington?

A: Last year, I taught Drama and Oral Communication at Horner Middle School. I enjoy teaching, even though it is a great deal of work and my weekends are spent grading papers.

Q: What activities were you involved in when you were in high school?

A: In high school I was graduating class valedictorian, president of the modern dance club, Sequoia High School Fashion Board Representative, and also school newspaper and yearbook staffer.

Q: What are your favorite music genres?

A: I like all music except jazz and rap. My favorite genres are pop, classical, rock, country western and I love Broadway musicals.

Q: What is your dream vacation?

A: My ideal vacation is to spend 1 month back in Brazil (where I lived for 14 years), cruising the Rio Negro and visiting small villages near Manaus.

Q: What are your favorite recent movies?

A: I’ve been too busy to watch any, but I dislike horror and violence genres. I like romantic and adventure films. My favorite movies are “Phantom of the Opera” and “Australia”.

Q: What is your favorite dessert?

A: I like to eat fruit.

Q: If you’re stranded on a deserted island, what would you bring?
A: I would bring my cat Allegro, lots of bottled water, and bushels of mangoes.

Q: If you were under a zombie invasion, what weapon would you choose to defend yourself with?

A: I don’t believe in using violence. I’d probably choose a brush and a bucket of black paint, and paint the zombies “out of the picture”

Q: What is your favorite book?
A: My favorite book is “Seabiscuit”. I prefer non-fiction to fiction.

Q: What’s a little special fact about you?
A: I never miss an episode of “Dancing With the Stars”, but I record it so I don’t have to endure the commercials.
