College just keeps getting better
Yes, Lady Gaga has recently become a college course in the University of Virginia. Graduate student Christa Romanosky teaches the writing course ENWR 1510 “GaGa for Gaga: Sex, Gender, and Identity.” The course focuses on how people’s reputations are affected by their sexuality and gender. Students will listen to the artist’s music and watch her videos as part of analyzing her impact on feminism and sexuality. This class is a prerequisite to an essay-writing course on how Gaga does not conform to society and how this deviation has given her a unique persona.
And for all you Harry Potter freaks out there, UVA offers the same course but with Harry Potter as the central theme. The college’s objective is to liven up an otherwise boring writing course so it will grab people’s attention.
