The Social Network gets Four Thumbs Up

Columbia Picture’s The Social Network is a cleverly articulated movie behind the founding of the Internet social network giant, Facebook. The movie tests the themes of friendship and loyalty between the two founders of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg) and Eduardo Saverin (played by Andrew Garfield) as they battle each other in a lawsuit.

The actors in the movie portray their characters perfectly. Jesse Eisenberg plays the somewhat socially awkward Harvard undergrad that has one friend. Their embodiment of the character grasps the viewer into Mark Zuckerberg’s dorm room or the civil lawsuit room. This documentary film exemplifies unconditional friendship through the toughest of times.

Many of us today take Facebook for granted. It has over 500 million users which translates to roughly 1 out of 14 people in the world.  The Social Network informs the audience about the discovery of these while also conveying to us a simple, but sturdy message about friendship.

Intricately crafted, beautifully put together, this seemingly normal film takes the viewers on a roller coaster ride through the personal life and background behind the Internet monster, Facebook.
