“Okay, so I grew up very far from here. So I guess that makes me unique? Yeah, I grew up in Sunnyvale and moved to Fremont in third grade. My parents started looking for target colleges when I was in kindergarten, so they decided on my extracurriculars by that time. I had piano on Mondays, RSM on Tuesdays, swimming on Wednesdays, and dance on Thursdays. Now, I’ve only stuck with swim because double accel math takes up so much of my time.
I don’t think I’m particularly unique: my schedule is full with AP inside and outside school. It looks something like this: I took 1 AP freshman year on macroeconomics through UC scout, … oh no, I don’t plan on doing anything related to economics in the future: I want to major in Bio and go down the premed track. Yeah, but I needed to just add more APs (laughs).
I actually have a nonprofit that I started last summer with my friends. We made an Instagram page that I run, so most of my work is just making aesthetic posts for publicity. What is the nonprofit? Um, actually, it’s like, it’s for empowering underprivileged kids in the Bay Area. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s so sad. Also, last summer I did this research program. We uh found studies that we made a review of. It was pretty expensive, but I think it was worth it since they said it adds a lot of prestige to our college application.
What do I do for fun? Well, I usually just procrastinate as long as possible, and by the time I finish my work around two in the morning, I just sleep. I guess scrolling TikTok is a hobby that I truly enjoy. Sometimes I get bored with it, so I scroll Instagram reels, or if I’m bored of that, YouTube shorts. I love listening to music, especially Laufey and beabadoobee. Sometimes on weekends, I get boba with my friends or go to Valley Fair and Santana Row.
I lwk just want to get out of here and go to college. Wait, don’t include that.”
