Key Club fundraises in California’s Great America
On October 24th, Irvington’s Key Club attended the annual Fall Rally North fundraiser in California’s Great America, where they joined hundreds of other key club members in Northern California to raise money for Pediatric Trauma Prevention and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The day at the theme park was spent rallying at the PGA stadium and auctioning off Lieutenant Governors to the key club divisions. The divisions that placed the highest bids were able to spend a designated amount of time with the Lieutenant Governors, or the divisional leaders, who work with them to put on various events.
Irvington’s division, dubbed “Division 12 East Superheroes,” was one of the 25 divisions present at the event. It was later announced that they had succeeded in raising over $7,000–more than any other division in Northern California.
Key Clubbers then continued with the rally portion which kicked off with a few speeches and games and was later followed by a spirit battle, in which the key clubs cheered for their divisions.
“We’re especially excited this year because our division has raised over a thousand dollars already, so we’re ready to show our pride!” said Key Club officer Angela Song. “We hope [the attendees of Fall Rally North] can pass on the great news about what a blast they had at FRN.”
