Vivian Chu is a junior and this is her first year on the Voice staff. Armed with the wisdom of Irvington’s sage English teachers, she must now embark on a journey towards succinct, journalistic writing styles and situations in which she must interview people. When she isn’t reporting on local issues, Vivian volunteers at the Berryessa Library in San Jose and participates in Readers’ Gym, a program that provides immersive reading experiences for young children. Aside from volunteer work, she partakes extracurricular activities such as piano, violin, and martial arts. While she doesn’t have definite plans for the future, Vivian hopes that she survives her AP classes, so that she can continue to write for The Voice.
Vivian dabbles in art, browses Tumblr and has occasional existential crises in her spare time.
