“I decided to run for class officer again because I wanted to continue making an impact on our school and help create a memorable senior year for my class. Being a member of ASG and being able to form partnerships with others inspired me to continue the hard work. I love working with Jorell, so I’m glad we’ll be officers together again. I’m also excited to work with Shivani because we’ve collaborated in both Class Council and ASG, and I think she’s a very deserving candidate.
Outside of Class Council, I’m a choreographer for a hip-hop dance team that performs in rallies. I’m also the captain of Sitaare, which is a Bollywood dance team, and a member of Indopak, our Indian club. These roles have helped me learn how to work well with others, stay organized and manage dates, all while having fun. I’m especially excited about Dil Se because I’ll be organizing the event and being captains of one of the teams performing there.
As class officer, I want to make senior year both memorable and nostalgic. I hope to add more activities to senior events like senior sunrise, where we could bury a time capsule that we’d dig up before graduation. We could also paint and customize boxes at Bench Kickoff and use them to store memories from the year. Another idea is creating customizable pajama pants with our senior initials to wear to homecoming all-nighter. Since senior year also comes with college applications, I want to support my class by offering workshops with graduated seniors, peer clubs, and career counseling.
For anyone who might want to be a class officer someday, the biggest and scariest part is putting yourself out there. Last year, I debated whether to run because I was afraid of losing or being judged for my platform. But once I did, I had the opportunity to meet people with similar interests and form meaningful connections. That experience helped make me grow into who I am now, and I felt more confident running this year. I’ve learned that not everyone will always agree with my decisions, but understanding that the criticism for my role is not personal has helped.
Through this, I hope to be remembered as an officer and a friend that was there for our class. I can’t wait to be a senior!”
