“What motivated me to run for senior class officer was my goal to give everyone a chance to have fun during their senior year. I’ve been involved in leadership since eighth grade, and my journey throughout ASG has helped me understand what students in my class really want to see.
This year, I really liked how Diya and Jorell worked as the junior class officers. I want to incorporate their outgoing and hardworking personalities into my role, but I also want to focus on approachability and interaction.
Since building a collaborative and supportive community matters a lot to me, hosting nostalgic events such as senior sunrise can really bring us together. I liked how hyped we were during Lip Sync, especially because of the enthusiastic and entertaining team we have. I’m excited for homecoming week in particular since it reflects on our class’s journey throughout our high school years and how we’ve grown more spirited each year.
Outside of Class Council, I’ve continued developing my leadership skills in New Crew. I’ve also attended the California Association of Student Leaders national and state conferences, where I shared my ideas with other school leadership members as an ambassador. Additionally, I was trained by the Youth Voters Movement to help juniors and seniors register to vote early and just recently presented on February 2.
As senior class officer, I want the Class of 2027 to remember me as a person who steps out of their comfort zone and takes time to connect with others. The legacy I would like to leave in Irvington is an environment that is inclusive, diverse, and transparent. While I want to dedicate effort to make senior year memorable for everyone, I also wish to foster good connections with the other classes and make sure they don’t only see us as competition, but also people they can look up to.
I want to know that I genuinely care about each and every one of your opinions, so I’ll make sure that all of your voices are heard and your input is taken into consideration when planning next year’s events. A lot of us have grown up together, so let’s make the most of our time we have with each other.”
