Hello! Pleased to make an acquaintance. My name is Ekuit E, and I’m a junior at Irvington High School. I think I will be a great asset if I am the future principal of the school.
I have the ideal stats for the job— a 1610 SAT, 35 ACT, and currently a 4.9 GPA. I mean what more could you ask for from such a well accomplished student like me. On a side note, I aimed for 1600-something volunteering hours, and I aimed for that number specifically because it’s something like my lucky number. For my extracurricular activities, I am a 4 time winner of International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), interned at Meta and worked on “ad-targeting AI models” my freshman year, and just last month, I completed a tech startup that uses generative machine learning to write LinkedIN posts.
My favorite part of Irvington is our ranking within the Fremont Unified School district. We are currently ranked 2nd in terms of academic achievement, and under my leadership, I’m strongly inclined to believe we can raise that to first.
Currently, I want to focus on making more data driven decisions about Irvington. The first thing I would like to implement is the rule of thumb called “D.I.E., or Defund Inefficient Education.” A few months ago, I studied the most effective courses in our current catalogue offered in this school, and came to the conclusion that we should remove certain courses in our curriculum entirely. For example, I would prioritize getting rid of our CCA program. The art oriented students in the classes currently provide nothing significant to society, and in such a rapidly changing economy, we should focus on training students to become more efficient workers instead of holding society back. Additionally, I would like to enact a change to the benchmark projects. The Benchmark projects like WIP, CHANGE, and QUEST should be designed to help students secure internships at nearby companies. Internships have a much higher return on investment for good college admissions compared to volunteering and civic action, after all.
