Are you an Irvington student interested in scrolling memes on Instagram reels? If so, consider registering for the new Fremont Super Soldier Games!
The Instagram account Fremont Super Soldier, known for posting memes about Fremont stereotypes, has previously hosted competitions for Fremont citizens, including the Fremont Drink Tournament, Fremont Restaurant Tournament, Fremont Sticker Contest, and Custom Sticker Drops and Hunts. Now, the user behind the Instagram meme account is searching for a successor from Irvington High School, the most meme-able high school in the Fremont School Unified District, to continue posting for the account’s 13,800 followers.
According to his most recent post on Instagram, the Fremont Super Soldier Games will determine which student from Irvington High School will inherit the Fremont Super Soldier account. Students from Irvington must form teams of four to compete in the three-round tournament designed to challenge their creativity. There are no entry fees to compete in the competition.
Round 1: Virality Competition
Teams have one week to produce the most iconic and relevant Fremont meme reel. By the end of the week, all teams will submit one reel to be posted on the Fremont Super Soldier account. The ten reels with the overall highest views, likes, and comments by the end of the following week will advance to Round 2.
Round 2: Scavenger Hunt
Teams have one day to explore Fremont using a clue released in a story on the Fremont Super Soldier account. The clue will lead to a specific location in Fremont that will require teams to perform a task, such as recording a trending dance, before earning a clue to the next location. Teams must submit proof of performing the task at each location to Fremont Super Soldier to complete the scavenger hunt. Only the teams that complete the scavenger hunt by the end of the day will advance to Round 3.
Round 3: Assassins
Teams will be secretly assigned target teams to eliminate with water guns by the end of each week. Failure to eliminate a target team by the end of each week will result in elimination. However, if a team eliminates their target team before the end of each week, they will inherit the eliminated team’s assignment and continue eliminating competitors without waiting for the next week. Competitors must provide video evidence of each elimination. Furthermore, competitors are not allowed to eliminate targets on school property, during school hours, or on private property. Although Round 3 allows the use of water goggles to negate the effects of elimination, these “shields” are only active during specific hours of each day as described in a story posted by Fremont Super Soldier. After all teams but one have been eliminated, the remaining team will split into four individual competitors, who will focus on eliminating each other in a free-for-all to become the next Fremont Super Soldier.
The Fremont Super Soldier Games are currently open for registration, with the competition officially beginning on Wednesday, April 8. Irvington students of any grade may register, with teams allowing for competing members of any grade. So, if you are prepared to battle in Fremont’s greatest meme war, register now!
